Chris Lane an Australian baseball player on scholarship at East Central University got murdered senselessly by three teenagers on Friday in Duncan, Oklahoma while he was jogging. The catcher was in town to visit his girlfriend Sarah Harper

During his run those three teenagers made a conscious decision to murder him. According to reports one said “there’s our target.” Also, stating “‘we were bored and didn’t have anything to do, so we decided to kill somebody.”

Witnesses to the event did their best to resuscitate Lane to no avail. Richard Rhodes a contractor told an Australian broadcast “he was face down on the ground and he was shot in the back with a .22 revolver. I had another lady stop and we tried CPR on him. And he passed away right here.”

Chancey Allen Luna (16), James Frances Edwards (15) have now been charged with first degree murder. The driver Michael Dewayne Jones (17) got charged with using a vehicle while a weapon was discharged and accessory to first degree murder after the fact and he’ll also get tired as an adult.

An indication is that the trio were in a “wannabe gang.” Regardless the question becomes is how did the gun used in the shooting get acquired? If it belonged to one of the parents charges are necessary as well due to their irresponsibility.
