The main event was upon us as Terence Crawford (27-0 with 19 KOs) stepped into the ring against Hank Lundy (26-5-1 with 13 KOs). And before the fight even started, as it abundantly clear that Omaha had traveled well for this fight as Crawford got an ovation that was on the same level as Vedejo got when he came out. This was clearly a partisan crowd and Crawford was the clear benefactor of it. Now it was time to see if the crowd would have an impact on the fight.

In round one, it was a rare non feel out 1st round and both fighters came out throwing with bad intentions. Crawford was able to get the best of Hank as he started out with a quick 1-0 lead. In round 2, the crowd got into it, chanting Crawford as Terence stalked Lundy, using his jab beautifully and dominating most of the 2nd round until Lundy landed a shot to the head that didn’t seem to hut Crawford, but it definitely connected. Despite that, Crawford still won the round.

As round 3 started, Lundy threw some early haymakers to try to at least delay Crawford from coming in, but it was to no avail as Crawford continued to come forward an use his jab without forcing the situation to get himself in harm’s way. In round 4 there was much more exchanges, both fighters unleashed some vicious hooks that caught the other. Lundy probably had his best round thus far, but Crawford still landed more than enough to win the round.

In round 5, as a fight started in the crowd, the bigger fight was just starting in the ring as Crawford erupted on Lundy, landing vicious combos that sent Lundy to the ground. Lundy looked like he was done, and has he barely got up at the end of the referee’s count, Crawford finished off the attack and ended Lundy in the 5th. Terence Crawford improved to 28-0 with a dominating win over Hank Lundy. It was an enormous win for Crawford, not because of who he was fighting but because of how he dominated him and the crowd that came out to see him.
