London, England – Arsenal failed to regain top spot in the Premier League in a boring draw against Chelsea.

This result means Liverpool and the Gunners are tied on points but Liverpool is ahead thanks to a superior goal differential.

Frank Lampard came the closest to breaking the deadlock when he smashed a volley off of the crossbar. Olivier Giroud had two late chances to break the dead lock but shanked one off of his left boot and had the other denied by Petr Chech.

This game ended with a chorus of boos raining down, as Arsen Wenger remained winless against Jose Mourinho. The frustrated Arsenal fans also sang, “boring boring Chelsea” because of the park the bus tactic Mourinho deployed.

Arsenal had 61% of possession but failed to score bringing back recent memories of Arsenal teams finding it difficult to score even though they boss the game. Giroud looked lost and misplaced most of the game making it hard for the midfielders to connect with him. Will Giroud’s recent dip form force Wenger to test the transfer market in January?

Chelsea is happy with getting just one point and staying in the top 4 but Arsenal should not be. After only managing one point against Manchester City and Everton they needed to show the fans that they can win against top opponents. Arsenal still lacks the class up front to beat the best teams in England and make a title run.
