Before last night’s 2014 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, not many people outside of modeling and fashion knew who Karlie Kloss was, after walking down the fashion runway with BFF Taylor Swift, her name is now on the lips of everyone.
As stated above, when one thinks of Victoria’s Secret, names such as Heidi Klum, Alexandra Abrossio, Gisele Bundchen, Adriana Lima and Tyra Banks come to mind. Recent new standouts such as Candice Swanepoel, Behati Prinslo, Marisa Miller, Lily Aldridge and Rosie Huntingon-Whiteley make it easy for Kloss to get lost in VS’s star-studded lineup of models.
Not anymore.
The 6’1 22-year-old Chicago native first rose to prominence as a cover model for retailer Abercrombie and Fitch before closing for the likes of Marc Jacobs, Carolina Herrera, appeared in advertisements for Donna Karan, Nina Ricci, Chloe, Lacost, Gap, Dolce and Gabbana and American Eagle.
It was in 2011, that Kloss would land her big break in walking the runway for Victoria’s Secret. After befriending the uber-pop star after her move to the Big Apple, her profile began to rise as both would be seen out together at fashion shows all over Gotham, including last year’s Fashion Show—in which Swift performed.
After walking down the runway with Swift, it’s safe to say that Kloss is no longer another one of Victoria’s best kept secrets anymore.
