The Frisco RoughRiders, Double-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers, dropped a devastating 10-1 decision to the Midland RockHounds Tuesday night. The Oakland Athletics affiliate silenced Frisco’s bats with an outstanding performance from starting pitcher Casey Meisner. The RoughRiders managed just five hits throughout the entire matchup.

Meisner threw six strong innings of baseball. He allowed just three hits, no runs while striking out three and walking none. He tossed 82 pitches, 58 for strikes. The 22-year-old righty earned the win, improving to 3-3 on the season.

Unfortunately for the RoughRiders, their starting pitcher wasn’t as tuned in. Ariel Jurado took the hill for Frisco. He allowed nine hits and six runs (four earned) in his 5.2 innings of work. He walked one, struck out three, and hit a batter. It was a tough outing for Jurado, as he took the loss and now sits at 7-8 this season.

There wasn’t a lot of offensive excitement for the RoughRiders. Royce Bolinger, Scott Heineman, and Juremi Profar all hit doubles in the matchup. However, the team could not capitalize on the extra bases. Frisco hit a measly 1-8 with runners in scoring position, leaving five men on base when it was all said and done.

Bolinger finished his night 2-4, with a double and one RBI. Heineman went 1-3, with a double and a walk. Profar went 1-3 as well, with a double.
