With the first set of College Football Playoff rankings set to be officially unveiled next week, here are INSCMagazine’s rankings on the teams that will make the second-ever CFP playoffs.
.) Ohio State Buckeyes (8-0) – Thanks to switching from the struggling Cardale Jones to the more accurate and efficient J.T. Barrett, the defending champions are beginning to resemble the team many picked as the overwhelming favorites to repeat. Remaining games vs. ranked opponents: No.6 Michigan State, @No.15 Michigan – Remaining Strength Of Schedule Rank: (32)
.) TCU Horned Frogs (7-0) – Unless Baylor Bears true freshman QB Jarrett Stidham can channel his inner Cardale, then the number two spot in the CFP rankings is TCU’s for the taking. Plus, Heisman Trophy hopeful in QB Trevone Boykin and the boys get the Seth Russell-less Bears in Fort Worth this year. Remaining games vs. ranked opponents: @No.14 Oklahoma, No.2 Baylor – Remaining Strength Of Schedule Rank: (22)
.) Clemson Tigers (7-0) – The best team in the ACC, sorry Florida State! Any team that dump trucks the usually-tough Miami Hurricanes on the road by 50-plus points is one to watch. Remaining games vs. ranked opponents: No.17 Florida State – Remaining Strength Of Schedule Rank: (45)
.) LSU Tigers (7-0) – The rough and rugged Bayou Bengals team will go as far as Heisman front-runner Leonard Fournette will carry them. Remaining games vs. ranked opponents: @No.7 Alabama, @No.19 Ole Miss – Remaining Strength Of Schedule Rank: (1)
