When it comes to the Oakland Raiders things have changed. There is no more spending on big name free agents. They are spending wisely on positions that need improvement. This year should be more of the same. The Raiders have roughly $45 million in cap space this offseason. Here are some targets that may help them out in 2017.

Jack Doyle – TE

Doyle was a quiet but productive TE for the Indianapolis Colts. He averaged 10 yards per catch and had 5 TDs in 2016. He played in all 16 games too. The Oakland Raiders are in need of a quality TE. Doyle should not come with an extensive price tag either. He could definitely give Dereck Carr another target to throw too. Therefore, I would look at Jack Doyle to don the silver and black if I was GM Reggie McKenzie.

Keenan Robinson – ILB

The Oakland Raiders could use some help at this position. Their current ILB Malcolm Smith is set to hit free agency. If they do not plan on re-signing him, Robinson may be able to fit the bill. He is only 27 years old and is a quality LB. Last season, with the New York Giants, Robinson recorded 82 tackles in 16 games. Head Coach Jack Del Rio should look at adding Keenan Robinson to his defense.

Eddie Lacy – RB

Eddie Lacy would be a great addition to the Oakland Raiders. Although Lacy has had some struggles with his playing weight, the Raiders could use his services. Lacy is only 26 years old. If he can keep his weight down, Lacy could be one of the best backs in the league. The Raiders are not set at running back either. Latavius Murray is a free agent and they may have to rely on second-year back DeAndre Washington. Taiwan Jones and Jalen Richard are unproven, although Richard had some quality carries in 2016. As a result, the Raiders need to get a solid back in to run the ball. Hence, Lacy could be that back.

Nick Perry – OLB

Nick Perry would be a very strong addition to an already solid defense. The Raiders have Kahlil Mack and Bruce Irvin to get to the passer. Adding a pass rusher like Perry would ease the pressure on a player like Mack and open up some other opportunities. Perry is only 26 years old and last season had 11 sacks for the Green Bay Packers. He would be a force with Mack and Irvin. Adding a player like Perry would make the Oakland Raiders defense especially relevant in 2017.

The Oakland Raiders are a team on the Rise. They have some great weapons on offense and defense. They are probably looking to add more role players than stars. Because, when you lose the division on the final week of the season, something must be right. The Raiders will be back in that spot again in 2017, these guys can only help.
