Watching the ball nestle in the center of the hoop is one of the most beautiful sights in sport. That exhilarating feeling amplifies when the shot comes from distance. Thankfully, the NBA is blessed with the best 3-point shooters in the world. From Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson to Joe Harris and Buddy Hield. We’re fortunate enough to watch these superstars break records when they step onto the court.
Let’s not forget about legends from the past either. Ray Allen, Dale Ellis, Steve Kerr, and Larry Bird, among others, inspired generations of players. They were masters at scoring from outside the arc. Their major honors and awards prove that they were among the best 3-point shooters of all time.
If you’re looking for the latest basketball tips, check out our list below. We’ve included the best 3-point shooters in the NBA right now. The next time you’re placing a wager, you’ll need to keep these players in mind.
The Main Contenders
Stephen Curry – The six-time NBA all-star is arguably the best 3-point shooter of all time. The Golden State Warriors point guard has won a variety of honors. Currently, he holds the record for the most 3-pointers made during a regular NBA season. As if that wasn’t enough, Curry also leads the way for most 3-pointers made during an NBA Finals game.
From 2013 to 2017, the 31-year-old was the NBA 3-point field goals leader. His ability to score from outside the arc has led the Warriors to multiple conference titles and three NBA championships. We’re not sure if Curry’s records will ever be surpassed.
Klay Thompson – The Los Angeles-born shooting guard has been incredible alongside Curry for the Warriors. Klay Thompson currently holds the record for the most 3-pointers made in an NBA playoff game. He was also the 3-point contest champion in 2016. When Thompson shoots from distance, be prepared for the ball to settle in the hoop.
Furthermore, the five-times all-star has won three NBA championships. Warriors fans have watched these legends complement each other for several years. Hopefully, they’ll continue to do it for years to come.
Joe Harris – The former Cleveland Cavaliers player is the current NBA 3-point contest champion. He beat Stephen Curry by 2 points during the final round at the Spectrum Center in February. The number 12 is one of the most dangerous players in the NBA from outside the arc.
Harris hasn’t won any major honors with the Brooklyn Nets yet. However, if he scores plenty of points this season, we wouldn’t be surprised if they qualified for the playoffs.
Buddy Hield – This list wouldn’t be complete without the Sacramento Kings shooting guard. Earlier this year, Buddy Hield broke Damian Hillard’s record for the most 3-pointers made during a players first three professional seasons. What’s more, Buddy has won several awards including the Oscar Robertson Trophy.
At just 26-years-old, the Bahamian still has plenty more to give. Hopefully, he’ll continue to entertain basketball fans for the next decade.
