Galveston, Texas. The Oleander City.
A coastal and resort town located on Galveston and Pelican Islands, this unique city of 50,000-plus is its own kind of Texas cool.
Known for it’s world-famous Port of Galveston, the home port of Carnival Cruise Lines, Royal Caribbean and Disney Cruise Line’s Disney Magic, Galveston is a popular tourist destination in the Gulf Coast and South, that has helped it earned the nickname of “Playground of the South”.
Thanks to its world-famous Galveston Beach, it is home to the Galveston Bikini Contest at Float Pool Bar, which attracts hopefuls from various parts of Texas and the rest of the country, Galveston is a all-year long glorified spring break party of non-stop fun.
One would never associate the words Texas, beach and bikinis in the same sentence, but Galveston has all of it in spades. And one of its own fellow Galvestonians also has it all in one curvy package in Orlando-based glamour model, Jenny Garza.
Garza, a shapely 5’4 petite bombshell, makes no qualms about who she is and where she is from, as she is Texas born, and Texas proud, through and through. Thanks to modeling for the likes of brands such as Coors, Bud Light, Redd’s Apple Ale and Rekorderlig Cider, Garza is set to make a few Texas-sized splash in the world of glamour modeling.
A die-hard fan of the San Antonio Spurs, check out my newest Q and A with Jenny as we talk about modeling, looking great this summer, her mermaid tail and that hoops team of hers. Go Spurs Go!
Name: Jenny Garza
Birthplace: Galveston, Texas
What kind of model do you consider yourself? (Instagram, pin-up/glamour, fashion) Glamour
What brands have you modeled for? Which one do you enjoy modeling for the most? I have been a brand ambassador for Coors, Bud Light, Redd’s Apple Ale, and Rekorderlig Cider. I like Rekorderlig because I personally drink it when I’m out.
Where has been your favorite place to shoot? Isla Mujeres, Mexico. The water is so beautiful, clear and blue. The locals are very nice and it’s a great place to relax after a long day of shooting and drink margaritas.
What is the most exciting aspect of modeling? The traveling and meeting new people
With summer now here, what tips do you have for looking great on the beach? For looking great on the beach, sunscreen to avoid premature aging, coconut water to stay hydrated, and eating clean to avoid unnecessary bloating.
What swimwear trends and styles do you recommend for looking hot, confident and sexy? Anything that makes YOU feel comfortable and sexy. Whether it’s a one-piece, monokini, bikini, a stylish floppy hat, cat eye rimmed sunglasses, or a sheer floral print coverup. If you feel it, you will radiate that to others and they will know you’re hot.
Within the industry, who is your inspiration? The original supermodels. Cindy Crawford, Nicky Taylor, Naomi Campbell, Rachel Hunter etc. They were naturally curvy, poise, and weren’t injecting their face with crazy chemicals to make themselves look like a certain standard. They all had their “flaws” and embraced them. And that’s what made them beautiful and unique.
What is your secret to staying in shape? Diet. I don’t eat anything that has been processed. The majority of losing weight and keeping it off is in what you eat.
Outside of modeling, what are your hobbies? I have a mermaid tail that I love taking in the pool or to the beach and go swimming.
Sports question: Who are your favorite teams and clubs. My favorite team are the San Antonio Spurs. Always representing Texas! haha
What are your favorite cities to travel to? Any city with a beach nearby.
What advice would you give to women aspiring to get into modeling? Just be you. Don’t set yourself up to look or be like everyone else. Everyone is beautiful in their own way. Let the industry see what makes YOU beautiful.
