News and Notes : Liverpool Routs Arsenal, Ex-Browns HC Chudzinski Hired By Colts, PG Nash Returns

Liverpool Routs Arsenal 5-1 at Anfeld : Thanks braces from Martin Skrtel (1’ and 10’), Raheem Sterling (16’ and 52’) and a goal from Daniel Sturridge, Liverpool stunned the Gunners 5-1, and coupled with Chelsea’s 3-0 win over Newcastle, Arsenal now sit one from the top of the EPL table.

Mikel Arteta would be the only Gunner tally for the Gunners, who begin a challenging fortnight in which they face United(2/12), Liverpool(2/16) and defending European champion, Bayern(2/19) at the Emirates, need to recover quickly if they hope to end their nine-year silverware drought.


Ex-Browns HC Rob Chudzinski Hired As Special Assistant : According to media reports, former Cleveland Browns head coach, Rob Chudzinski has been hired by the Indianapolis Colts as a special assistant to the head coach.

Chudzinski, who would be fired after the Browns regular-season finale loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, now joins Chuck Pagano in Indianapolis, most likely to help on the offensive side of the ball.

PG Steve Nash Returns, Scores 19 Points In Win : After an unusual win on the road at Cleveland, the Los Angeles Lakers got some much-needed help on offense in point guard Steve Nash. Nash, who would missed a portion of the season with injuries, scored 19 points on his 40th birthday along with five assists and four rebounds in a Lakers 112-98 road win against the Philadelphia 76ers.

Nash, the oldest player in the NBA, would also shoot 8 of 15 from the field.
