Rose City Beauty! Q and A With Instagram Swimsuit Model, Alicia Sollazzo

Windsor, Ontario, Canada.

Directly across from Detroit, Michigan, Windsor is Canada’s southern most city. Thanks to Canada’s legal drinking age of 19, and it’s popular casino, Caesars Windsor, Americans come in droves across the iconic Ambassador Bridge to partake in underage drinking and gambling.

Known as the “City of Roses” and the “Automotive Capital of Canada”, the city of close to 330,000 is a vital city in the form of international trade, automotive production and tourism. Thanks to a lively nightlife scene, the value of the American dollar and it’s close proximity to the States, Windsor is a popular spot for those from nearby American cities such as Toledo, Cleveland and Detroit.

Home to fellow Windsorites such as Hollywood stars Oliver Platt (Chicago Med), Colm Feore (House of Cards), Katie Findlay (How To Get Away With Murder) and sports stars such as Tyrone Crawford defensive end of the Dallas Cowboys, head coach of the Chicago Blackhawks, Joel Quenneville, Matthew Puempel of the New York Rangers and former top overall pick in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft in current Florida Panthers defenseman, Aaron Ekblad.

Could Instagram swimsuit model, Alicia Sollazzo be the next Rose City beauty to bloom? They say that good things come in small packages, at 5’1, the Italian-Canadian green-eyed stunner does not disappoint.

Thanks to a set of curves, tan skin and shapely figure born to walk any and every beach, Sollazzo could well become the next great Canadian hottie to hit it big in the States. An up-and-coming talent who’s Instagram modeling game is strong, Sollazzo has doing a lot of promo work for various swimsuit calendars such as Tropic Beauty and the workout app Passion4Profession, Sollazzo is truly one to watch, both on social media and in the world of modeling.

A die-hard fan of the NBA champion Golden State Warriors, Sollazzo has her heart set for California, with dreams of making it big in Los Angeles. Thanks to her combination of beauty, curves and a can-do positive attitude, nothing is going to stand in her way.

What kind of model do you consider yourself? (Instagram, pin-up/glamour, fashion): Instagram/swimsuit model.

What brands have you modeled for? Which one do you enjoy modeling for the most? I haven’t modeled for any brands yet, but hopefully soon! I do a lot of promo work and swimsuit calendars.

Where has been your favorite place to shoot? Vegas! I’m always there, it’s like my second home, so I love shooting there.

What is the most exciting aspect of modeling? Definitely the travelling and the amazing people you meet along the way. I’ve met so many great people in this industry that I can really connect with.

With summer now here, what fashion and style tips and trends do you have for looking good when the temperature drops? My style is definitely all over the place. I don’t like to stick to one trend. There’s so many great styles out there it’s hard to just choose one. But with summer coming soon you better believe I’ll be buying a bunch of bikinis!

As a model, what recommendation do you have in terms of beachwear and looking sexy on the beach? When it comes to beachwear, not everyone is super comfortable wearing tiny little bikinis on the beach, which is totally fine, everyone’s different. One piece swimsuits are back in style which I love because the days where I feel like I’m not looking my best, I’ll just throw on a one piece.

Another thing I love is all the sexy coverups that are coming out, I can throw one on whenever I want to hide my tummy a bit. But don’t get me wrong, I love my skimpy bikinis, that’s what I mostly wear on the beach. Biggest thing is when it comes to feeling sexy, just be you and feel comfortable in your own skin!

What workout and motivation tips do you have for getting fit and toned this summer? Have fun! When it comes to working out we all know that going to the gym can be boring at times, so try different things. I love always finding new ways to stay active so that I don’t get bored.

Go for a hike, take a dance class, or workout with a partner! I also swear by my skinny tea! I’m always travelling so I don’t always have time for a workout but with my tea I’m never bloated and I always have energy to keep going.

Within the industry, who is your inspiration? Definitely my girlfriends! I’ve gotten very close with a lot of other models from travelling so much and we all have each other’s backs, I love it. Seeing them succeed in the industry really inspires me to keep going with my dreams as well.

What is your secret to staying in shape? Staying active and eating healthy for sure! It’s hard while travelling to eat healthy because you don’t really have time to sit there and make a healthy meal so most of the time you just pick up something quick that’s not really good for you. But if you can stay away from the junk food, you’ll see it’s easier to stay in shape.

Outside of modeling, what are your hobbies? Singing! I love to sing. I’m also a trained dancer, which most people don’t know. I can’t wait to get back to performing along with the modeling.

Sports question: Who are your favorite teams and clubs? I love basketball, I can watch all day! I’m definitely a Golden State fan all the way. Go Warriors!!

What are your favorite cities to travel to? I’ve only been to LA once for a short little trip but I still love it there. I can’t wait to go back and see everything. California definitely has my heart! I love New York as well, amazing city.

What advice would you give to women aspiring to get into modeling? If it’s really what you want to do, I say go for it! It’s a difficult industry to be a part of that’s for sure and very competitive, so you need to be ready for it.

A lot of stress comes along with modeling but there’s a lot more great things that come along with it as well. Even though it’s hard at times, I will never regret getting into this industry. It’s what I was meant to do and I will work my butt off to stay here!
