R.C. What brands have you modeled for? Which one do you enjoy modeling for the most?

A.C. “I have not yet, modeled for a specific line of clothing.  However, I have done promotional events and photoshoots at Illinois Harley Davidson, Perillo Downers Grove, and for several photographers.”

R.C. Where has been your favorite place to shoot?

A.C. “My favorite place to shoot at is Illinois Harley Davidson in Countryside, IL.  The staff is very welcoming and the environment is great!”

R.C. What is the most exciting aspect of fitness modeling?

A.C. “The most exciting aspect of fitness modeling is all of the positive feedback that I get from supporters.  It’s so great to know that I can inspire so many people.”

R.C. With summer here, what are some of the fitness and workout trends that you have noticed?

A.C. “I have noticed a lot of team-based workouts, such as group cycling classes, kickboxing classes, and crossfit.  A lot of people really seem to enjoy a sense of community while their teammates/classmates cheer them on during a workout session. “

R.C. What can men and women do to get in better shape for the summer?

A.C. “There are so many different ways to get fit for the summer.  I see many of my friends joining crossit gyms, picking up the weights at the gym, or even an increase in any type cardio.  I prefer to increase my cardio by walking my dog more frequently.  This not only helps me stay in shape but keeps me and my fur baby bonded.”

R.C. Within the industry, who is your inspiration?

A.C. “My number one inspiration in the fitness industry is Nikki Blackketter.  When I first decided to get into bodybuilding, she is the first youtber I came across.  Her videos caught my attention and I just could not stop watching.  She doesn’t just vlog about her life in the gym, she shares her daily activities, her home life, and even personal issues that she may be having at the time.  It shows, not only women in the fitness industry, but young girls all over the world, that even the most successful people go through struggles, heartbreak, and deal with real life situations.”

R.C. What first inspired you to go into fitness modeling and training?

A.C. “After going through a rough breakup, a friend advised me that I needed a distraction.  She told me that she thought I would do very well in the bikini division in bodybuilding.  Once I started training, all of my focus shifted into my workouts and meal prepping.  Once I started filling my life with positivity and hard work, the opportunities started presenting themselves to me.  I was frequently posting my progress on social media and gaining such a great support system.

Soon enough, photographers started contacting me about doing photoshoots and events.  When my competition date arrived, I knew I was happy with the package I was bringing on stage.  Come to find out, the judges were happy with it too! I won 3 bikini divisions, bikini overall, and received my pro-card.  Since then, I have been doing more events, photoshoots, and have signed with a supplement company.”

R.C. What is your daily regiment and training routine?

A.C. “I workout between 5 and 6 days a week.  My Coach sets me up on a weekly workout split.  I normally do legs an glutes 2 to 3 times a week.  Back and Biceps one day a week, and shoulders and triceps one day a week.  I get a lot of people asking me about my cardio routine, however, I do not do much cardio.  I am naturally very lean, so cardio is not necessary until closer to competition.”

R.C. Outside of modeling, what are your hobbies?

A.C. “I enjoy spending time outside with my dog.  I love to take him on walks and go swimming at a dog club not too far from my house.  I also enjoy riding motorcycles and jet skis with my family during the summer.”

R.C. Sports question: Who are your favorite teams and clubs?

A.C. “When I have the time to watch sports, I really enjoy watching hockey.  My favorite hockey team is the Blackhawks!”

R.C. What are your favorite cities to travel to?

A.C. “My absolute favorite city to travel to is Portland, Maine.  My sister and husband live not too far from the ocean in Portland.  The scenery is so beautiful and the historical sights are like nothing I have ever seen before.  Not to mention all the cute little shops downtown!”

R.C. What advice would you give to women aspiring to get into fitness modeling?

A.C. “My advice would be to never let anyone tell you that you can’t.  I get plenty of negative criticism and people that want to do nothing but bring me down.  At first it bothered me, but then I realized that if I wanted to be successful, I had to ignore the negatives and believe in myself.

No matter what happens, keep your head held high and keep moving forward!”
