Well, do not worry because there is still time. Summer might be right around the corner, but there is still time to get healthier and shape your body for the summer season. One of the best ways to accomplish this is by cutting your calories and choosing healthier food alternatives.

Skip The Fatty Dips

There is nothing better than those pre-meal appetizers. This is like the little treat before the feast. This is where most people really destroy their calorie count. With so much f the meal yet to come, why would one want to waste their calories on dips that are made will full-fat sour cream and other ingredients? Sure, they are delicious but will Greek yogurt as an alternative, you will really cut the calories. In fact, one ounce of sour cream is equal to 60 calories, whereas one ounce of Greek yogurt only has 20 calories and it is pretty delicious in its own right.

Take Advantage Of Diets

If you are like most people struggling with weight there is a good chance that you have tried diets in the past. You have probably tried many and seen little to no results. You might have even tried some and seen great results, but when you cut the diet, you just gained all the weight back. This is because most diets are revolved around theories of substantially cutting calories. Sure, this will aid in weight loss, but you will put the pounds back on when you get back to your regular eating routine. That will no be the case when you take advantage of diets like the CICO diet. This diet is based on eating healthier and maintaining a healthier lifestyle.

Avoid The Dark Meat

There is something more attractive about dark meat. This is especially true when it comes to that Thanksgiving turkey. Well, when you learn how many calories are in that dark meat, you are going to be surprised. Dark meat contains about 40 percent more calories than white meat. For instance, a 3.5-ounce portion of dark meat, which is about the size of a deck of cards, equals about 230 calories. The same amount of white meat only equals right around 160 calories. That’s a complete cut of 70 calories. In addition to this, white meats contain less saturated fat, which is just a healthier option.

Put Down That Casserole And Opt For Green Beans

Everyone likes a good bean casserole, but such dishes are usually loaded and stuffed with tons of fat and unhealthy eating options. However, this doesn’t mean that you can’t cut the calories and made the dish somewhat overall healthier. Instead of creating your casserole with cream of mushroom opt for a reduced-fat version. This will cut at least 40 calories and skipping the French-friend onions and opting from some fresh green beans will make the entire dish healthier.
