Twenty-two years have passed since the debacle on Isla Nublar, and now the brainchild of John Hammond has been fully realized. Welcome everybody, to Jurassic World…the park is open.

People flock from all over to marvel at the wonders, that the luxury resort and theme park have provided for their entertainment. Two of these guests, just happen to be the young nephews of the park operations manager, Claire Dearing. The main attraction of course being the bevy of genetically engineered dinosaurs on display for the patrons. But as with any entertainment attraction the goal is to continually go bigger and better for the sake of bringing in more visitors…and making more money. To that end, the scientists create a hybrid dinosaur that is larger, more vicious, and more intelligent than any of the other species on the island. They call their new creation, Indominus rex.

Many wonderful things come by way of science, but as Patton Oswalt once said…sometimes science is “all about coulda and not about shoulda”. Because armed with its engineered attributes, this monstrous creature escapes and begins to wreak havoc on the resort. During the fracas, the I-rex causes a domino effect that hurls other species of dinosaur into the fray as well.

With prehistoric beasts running amok all over the island, Claire must now turn to Owen Grady, ex military and expert Velociraptor trainer, to save the island’s visitors and Claire’s nephews from an onslaught led by the very creatures they came to watch in captivity.

Colin Trevorrow was at the helm for this picture that he scripted with Rick Jaffa, Amanda Silver, and Derek Connolly. Chris Pratt leads a talented cast that includes Bryce Dallas Howard, Vincent D’Onofrio, Ty Simpkins, Nick Robinson, Omar Sy, B. D. Wong, and Irrfan Khan.

There is no doubt that any movie going up against Jurassic World this weekend is going to suffer a fate worse than a human jumped by a pack of Raptors. Catch Jurassic World, as it wreaks havoc in theaters nationwide starting June 12th. Visit FANDANGO for showtimes and tickets.
