Tyler Farr isn’t a new country artist, but he isn’t a household name either. His second album, Suffer In Peace, released in April and might be exactly what Farr needs to appeal to the casual country fan.
The album’s first single “A Guy Walks Into a Bar” has peaked at number 4 on the country airplay charts and has been certified gold. The track helped catapult the album into fourth place on the iTunes charts during its release week.
Although, Guy Walks Into a Bar isn’t Farr’s first rodeo. He has had two songs reach as high as number three on the country airplay charts (Redneck Crazy, Whiskey in My Water). In addition, his first album, Redneck Crazy, has reached the second position on the country album charts.
For Farr’s current studio release he enlisted the help of country megastar, Jason Aldean, who lends his vocals to the track, Damn Good Friends. It’s ironic that the two actually happen to be extremely close outside of the music world. In fact, Aldean asked Farr to walk his daughter down the aisle at his wedding.
Currently, Farr is touring with Aldean on his Burn It Down tour. If your lucky he might sing a little opera on stage, as Farr is a classically-trained opera singer. He sung tenor in the Missouri All-State Choir during his senior year of high school.
Not to worry country fans, Farr isn’t going to release an opera album anytime soon. Although, if it’s as good as his collection of country music, then it might be worth a listen.
