Puerto Rican metal artist Cirex is having a breakout year. With a steady stream of releases throughout 2026, he’s quickly establishing himself as a prolific force in the underground scene—and his latest album, Year 2083, might be his most ambitious project yet.

Known for his hybrid “cyber metal” approach, Cirex blends the brutality of deathcore with the mechanical edge of industrial metal, creating a sound that feels both futuristic and unrelenting. On Year 2083, he pushes that formula even further. The album leans heavily into 8-string guitar work, layering dense, low-end riffs with electronic textures drawn from drum and bass and dubstep, giving the record a cinematic, almost dystopian atmosphere.

The release also marks his third album of the year, capping off what has become the most active period of his career. Much of the material traces back to ideas developed during the pandemic, now reworked and brought to life in a concentrated creative burst that defines his 2026 output.

Across 13 tracks, Year 2083 delivers a cohesive yet hard-hitting experience that reflects both experimentation and precision. It’s a record that not only highlights Cirex’s evolution as an artist, but also signals his intent to carve out a unique space within modern heavy music.

Year 2083 is now available on major streaming platforms, including Spotify and Apple Music, and can also be downloaded for free via Bandcamp. https://cirex.bio/
