Zoe Kravitz isn’t going to be overshadowed by her father, Lenny Kravitz. In fact, she has been able to carve out a nice career for herself in the acting world, one that is still growing and expanding.
Many know the diminutive Kravitz from the highly successful Divergent series, where she plays alongside Shailene Woodley. There was also a small film you might have heard of called X-Men: First Class, where she played the winged mutant, Angel.
Although, despite her desire to be a Hollywood starlet, Kravitz does take after her father with one thing, and that’s music. Her band Lolawolf released an album last October, and have opened for artists such as Miley Cyrus.
When asked about how Kravitz balances her movie career with her music the band’s drummer/producer Jimmy Giannopoulos told The News Observer that she has no issue separating the two.
“It doesn’t affect anything. It’s like, that’s work. She’s making a living. That’s what she does for a job, you know. People go to work and they do (expletive). And she’s passionate about it too, which is even better. But when we’re making music, the two don’t ever really cross.”
Due to being the daughter of music royalty, Kravitz has been exposed to the industry for quite some time. She was featured in her first two films (No Reservations, The Brave One) during her senior year of high school. Kravitz is also best friends with megastar Jennifer Lawrence, as the two developed a friendship while filming First Class.
There is more on the horizon for Kravitz, as she is set to appear in the upcoming film Mad Max: Fury Road where she stars alongside Tom Hardy, Charlize Theron and X-Men co-star Nicholas Hoult. The future is bright for the 26-year-old Kravitz.
She is a true dual-threat in the entertainment world. Not only can she act, but she can rock out too. Just a few things she picked up from her father
