INSCMagazine: Get Social!

What a crazy week the more I think I know, the more I don’t, and that folks is why I LOVE this game. The best part is there is a ton of questions still to answer but based on the first three weeks we are in for another doozy. So without further ado here are my rapid fire takes.

1.) America say hello to Lamar Jackson and the Louisville Cardinals! I have never seen a Florida State team beaten like the way the cards did on Saturday. Lamar Jackson is a joy to watch and the heart and soul of this squad. And it’s not just him they have a defensive line full of big, mean men who want to do bad things.

Wasn’t it just yesterday Coach Bobby Petrino was riding around with his side chick and in the middle of a hot mess? Winning cures all doesn’t it? Holding Dalvin Cook to just 54 yards rushing and vaulting their team to National darlings and Jackson to the front of the Heisman Trophy race.

2.) Let the kids play! Ohio State went into Norman and destroyed the Sooners. Once again Bob Stoops gets out coached, and any Heisman talk with Baker Mayfield needs to stop. I was super impressed with the young Buckeyes having ZERO fear and just taking care of business. J.T. Barrett looks like he was worth the wait to be the man, and Noah Brown looks like a legit number one receiver.

The Buckeyes will only improve, and that’s a scary thought for the rest of the Big Ten, how GOOD is Urban Meyer?

3.) Can we get North Dakota State in a conference already? The Bison went into Iowa a Big Ten school and got it done. But that’s just not it, but how they got it done. With a good defense and an offense that lost Eagles starting quarterback Carson Wentz. What coach Chris Klieman has built is something special just like what is happening down in Houston. The Bison shouldn’t lose a game all season and go for National Championship number 6.

Most impressive thing to me ZERO penalties in the first half for NDSU, now that’s how you win on the road.

4.) A win is a win, just ask any Alabama fan. Down early by three touchdowns some tide fans where pouring the good stuff. But once again Ole Miss Let a 21 point lead go to waste, the Tide defense once it got its legs they turned up the heat. When you get 14 points from the D and special teams, you are playing with house money.
For QB Jalen Hurst these are the type of games that pay off down the line. And a matchup against Kent State will help work out any kinks as well. After what we saw from OSU Saban and his team better keep improving.

Quick Hitters:

-Football players DO NOT drop the football until you are IN the end zone! This is a nationwide crisis and needs to STOP.

-Michigan got knocked down early but came back strong. Jabrill Peppers is superb and showing why.

-Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Florida State-NO playoff for you this year thanks for playing.

-Texas A&M a very quiet 3-0…

Heisman Trophy Rankings:

  1. Lamar Jackson
  2. Christian McCaffrey
  3. J.T. Barrett
  4. Nick Chubb
  5. Greg Ward Jr.
