Isaiah Stewart

Isaiah Stewart, the Detroit Pistons forward, has the potential to make waves beyond the court, not just with his defense or rebounding, but also with his music. Malik Beasley’s Instagram story that featured a snippet of Stewart’s unreleased track has caused fans to become eager to hear more. Stewart has confirmed the arrival of new music. Stewart revealed his musical background and decided to share his work with the world in an exclusive interview with LandonBuford.com.

A Lifelong Passion for Music

“It was just fun. I grew up around a lot of dancehall music,” Stewart shared. “My dad used to throw a lot of bashment parties when I was younger, and he’s a DJ. He called his set ‘Isaiah the Prophet.’ I’ve always had a love for reggae music, and it seems like you guys want me to put it out. So, I’ll probably release it within the next few weeks.”

The excitement level has only gone up ever since Beasley posted. The snippet has caused fans to become more excited about Stewart’s music. It seems like he’s having a good time, confirming, “I’m definitely dropping that track—seems like people want to hear the rest of it, so I’ll put it out.”

A Passion Beyond Basketball

Stewart’s fondness for reggae is a result of his upbringing. Through bashment events, his father, a well-known DJ, greatly influenced his appreciation for the genre. Using music as a creative outlet beyond basketball is what Stewart is doing now as he prepares to enter the music industry. NBA players are not new to exploring music careers. Players such as Damian Lillard (aka Dame D.O.L.A.), Marvin Bagley, Miles Bridges, and Lonzo Ball have all experimented with rapping. Stewart’s unique transition into music is due to his reggae influence, making him stand out. The popularity of dancehall and Afrobeat music is continuing to rise, which is why his timing is perfect.

What’s Next?

Stewart’s passion for music adds a new dimension to his personality while he remains focused on the upcoming NBA season with the Pistons. Isaiah Stewart is capable of making a significant impact, whether on the court or in the studio. Stewart’s distinct reggae vibes will be present in both the basketball and music communities, so fans should stay tuned for the full track release.
