Tuesday Night will be a night full of great men’s college basketball action, with tons of ranked teams in action. Four of those ranked teams, all of whom are in the top 15 in the country, will be converging on Madison Square Garden in New York City for the State Farm Champions Classic. The second of the two games that the MSG crowd is going to get to enjoy will feature the Coach K’s number one ranked Duke Blue Devils take on seventh ranked Kansas Jayhawks. It is a showdown of two of college basketball’s premier powerhouses, and one that is sure to have some ramifications come March.

This is a Duke team that has high aspirations this season, as one would expect given they are ranked the top team in the country. Their opening two games have made them look that way, as they have cruised to two blowout victories at home. First they defeated the Marist Red Foxes by a score of 94-49, followed by a 96-61 victory over the Grand Canyon Antelopes. Now obviously these were two games against lower level competition compared to Tuesday night. So Grayson Allen better bring his A game, as the Kansas Jayhawks are not going to be a walk in the park like the Red Foxes and Antelopes.

Kansas’ men’s basketball team took a different approach to open their season in comparison to the Blue Devils. Instead of opening against a few cupcake teams, the Jayhawks went all out. They traveled down to Honolulu, Hawaii as the third ranked team in the nation to take on number 11, the Indiana Hoosiers in the Armed Forces Classic. The result, a 103-99 victory in overtime for an Indiana club that wanted to make a statement in a big time game. So Kansas could be looking at an 0-2 start if they cannot manage a win over another top quality opponent on Tuesday evening.

The stage is set for some great action in the Garden on Tuesday night, as this will be following another highly anticipated game between the Kentucky Wildcats and Michigan State Spartans. Be sure to tune in and watch as these college basketball Goliaths do battle on the hardwood in one of the greatest venues in the world.
