When it comes to summer cooking, the hamburger is the most common food item. Reason being, it is simple and universal. Everybody loves a good burger. Therefore, in this piece, I am here to give you a burger recipe that is sure to spice up your next cookout. The Jalapeno Popper Burger.
2 Lbs. 80/20 Hamburger
4 Jalapenos – Finely Diced
16oz Cream Cheese – Softened
1 lb. Chopped Bacon
Favorite Hamburger Roll
Mix all ingredients, by hand, in a large bowl. Form ¼ lb. patties. Meanwhile, preheat your grill to a med-high grill temperature. Place burgers on the grill and cook to the desired temperature. I also sprinkle with a gourmet burger seasoning.
Once your masterpiece is complete, place one a bun and serve with lettuce, tomato, onion, and any other favorite condiment.
This serves eight.
This is a twist on the favorite appetizer. You can also use different kinds of peppers. I have seen it made with serrano peppers as well. These peppers have a little bit more heat to them.
Another variation, to intensify the heat, which I have seen is replacing one of the jalapenos with one habanero. This really cranks up the heat index on this burger. If you really like it hot, do a 50/50 habanero/jalapeno mix.
Your first bite into this highly flavorful piece of work will make your mouth start to water. You can increase your salivation level with another bite. In all honesty, you will not want to put this burger down. Especially if you like it hot.
To keep your mouth at a level of light fire, I like to pair this burger with my favorite summer beer. A summer shandy or even a fruit infused beer. This will make your experience that much more enjoyable.
Take a chance with this summer favorite. If you like, a flavorful fire in your mouth this burger is the way to go. It is sure to spice up your summer cookout.
