Madison Square Garden, NY – The New York Knicks pull off an absolutely stunning, logic-defying comeback that shattered the NBA Finals record book.

In Game 4 of the NBA Finals at Madison Square Garden, the Knicks wiped out a 29-point deficit to defeat Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs 107-106.  This makes the largest comeback victory in NBA Finals history.

The win gives the Knicks a commanding 3-1 series lead, leaving them just one victory away from securing their first NBA Championship since 1973.

The game looked like an absolute blowout early on.  The young Spurs were shooting three-pointers left and right in the first half of the game.  This left a star-studded crowd silenced by halftime.

The Knicks tightened their defense in the third quarter, holding San Antonio to just 14 points, and began chipping away at the lead.

After going cold and missing all his shots in the first quarter, Jalen Brunson put the team on his back in the final stretch, finishing with 36 points and 7 assists.  His point total matches Walt Frazier’s iconic Game 7 performance in 1970 for the third-most points by a Knicks player in a Finals game (per ESPN).

With under 15 seconds left and the Spurs clinging to a one-point lead, a critical turnover by De’Aaron Fox and a huge block by OG Anunoby gave New York the final possession.

The shot that captured around the league.  With 1.2 seconds remaining on the clock, Jalen Brunson launched a go-ahead three-pointer.  It missed bouncing softly off the rim and OG Anunoby flew in from the perimeter, stretching high with his right hand to gently tip the ball in for the game-winning basket, Anunoby finished a spectacular night with 33 points (7-of-9 from deep).

This is only the fifth time in the modern NBA play-by-play era (since 1998) that a team has erased a 20+ point deficit in the fourth quarter of a playoff game.  Insanely, the Knicks have done it twice in the 2026 postseason alone, having also rallied against Cleveland in the Eastern Conference Finals.

The series now heads back to San Antonio for Game 5 on Saturday, June 13 at 830 PM EDT on ABC and ESPN, where the Knicks will have the chance to win the championship.
