CLEVELAND, OH — 18-3 vs. Cleveland as a member of the Baltimore Ravens–and last year with the New York Jets, and now 1-1 in two games under center for them, could former Super Bowl MVP quarterback Joe Flacco lead the Browns to the promised land?

Flacco, 38, who was with the New York Jets last season, has become a much welcome revelation for the Browns.

Two weeks after being claimed as a free agency and signed to the Browns practice squad, the one-time nemesis via Delaware could help fans quickly forget the franchise’s $230 million dollar mistake in Deshaun Watson, and help Cleveland make a deep run in the playoffs.

Yup. I said that.

Joe Flacco could lead the Browns to a deep playoff run, and dare I say, the Super Bowl.

It’s almost comical that Flacco, almost a decade older than Watson has help show the true potential of Stefanski’s big-play offense with his still strong arm, veteran leadership and the ability to make the right plays.

For the sake of argument, in six games played for the season, Watson has passed for 1,115 yards, seven touchdowns, four interceptions and a QB rating of 84.3

In just TWO games, Flacco has almost half of Watson’s passing total for the year at 565 yards, five touchdowns and two interceptions in two games under center and a QB rating of 83.8

While six games vs. two and a season-ending shoulder injury isn’t a fair platform to make comparisons, but numbers never lie and the NFL is a results-oriented sport.

And to burrow from the Hall of Fame coach, Bill Parcells, but the best ability is availability, and Watson has established a less than credible record of not being available for the Browns due to a combination of injuries and off the field issues.

While Watson is looking like a record-breaking debacle, Flacco is looking like a bargain bin reclamation project that is proving that one team’s trash is another’s treasure.

If the Browns are smart, they need to hold on to Flacco for at least another season, and bring him into training camp to compete and push Watson.

With four games left, and hopefully another four afterwards, Flacco can add another chapter to his already Super Bowl champion resume and help guide the Browns to their first.
