The Vienna Script Awards has once again proven itself as a global stage for powerful storytelling. In this year’s edition more than 40 screenplays were submitted from 11 countries each one offering a unique lens into the human experience. From daring shorts to sweeping dramas the competition brought together an exciting mix of voices styles and cinematic imagination

The festival proudly announced this year’s winners recognizing screenwriters whose work stood out for its emotional depth originality and craftsmanship. Prelude to a Death written by Danny Ashkenasi was honored as Best Feature Length Script for its poetic intensity and compelling narrative arc. Kiss Me While I Burn by Marcos Pechio took home Best Short Script captivating the jury with its raw emotional charge and stylistic boldness. The Best Drama award went to A STORY OF WRATH by Theo Leipert a tale of vengeance and consequence delivered with striking dramatic force. Philip Halmarack received the Breakthrough Author of the Year award for his debut script Forgive Me Father a bold first work that signals a major new talent in screenwriting

The jury was presided over by Dr. Evelyn Harper whose keen insight and leadership helped guide the selection process. She was joined by film and TV professional Marcus Rodriguez and acclaimed screenwriter Alicia Chen whose diverse perspectives shaped a rich and thoughtful discussion around this year’s entries

With an open-door policy to all genres and formats the Vienna Script Awards remains committed to spotlighting fresh voices and daring ideas. The next call for submissions is now open and screenwriters are invited to submit their work through FilmFreeway to join a growing international community of storytellers
