After a rough first week, there was a solid rebound in the second week in Steve’s Start em’s. We’ve seen the emergence of Curtis Samuel as a solid flex play and Carson Wentz finish both weeks as a top-three fantasy QB. But enough of the past let’s look at Steve’s Start em’s week 3 roundup.

David Montgomery –

I’ve been on board the David Montgomery train for a while now, even going as far as trading for him after a rough first week. This week we’ve been blessed with a Chicago Bears vs Houston Texans matchup which could end up being a battle for the first overall pick. However, Houston is very susceptible to big games from opposing runningbacks. Jonathan Taylor rushed for over 160 in week 1 and over 149 team rushing yards to the Broncos last week. For DFS players he’s valued at just $7,000 and someone you could plug into your RB2 or Flex position with no worries.

Drake London –

London may be the steal of the week so long as his target share remains the same and coach Arthur Smith’s mentality of getting Kyle Pitts involved in the offense stays the same. Through 2 weeks of the NFL season, Drake London has been targeted on over 30% of the throws, that is elite WR volume. The Seattle defense hasn’t been anything spectacular and even worse since losing Jamal Adams for the season week one.  If you spent too much DFS money on someone like Jonathon Taylor, or Justin Jefferson, London is a perfect value pick coming in at $6,200. This is almost identical to the Curtis Samuel value from last week but could produce a ton of points.

Tyler Conklin –

If you were someone that drafted Cole Kmet in hopes for that positive regression and have been let down, well me too. On the bright side, there have been a couple of undrafted tight ends that you should be able to pick up and this is one of them. While Conklin isn’t putting up elite numbers he’s putting up enough to get you by for now. He’s seeing almost a 15% target share in what has been a pass-heavy offense so far. Conklin may not be a season-long answer especially with Zach Wilson coming back in a week or two but for now, you can plug him into your team. He’s going for $5,200 on FanDuel and can be the plug-in if you want to spend a ton of your pot on WR or RB.

Jared Goff –

I’ll take 2022 Fantasy Oddities for 500 please Alex! I don’t think going into this season anyone was thinking Jared Goff would be a startable QB unless you were in a Superflex or two QB league, but here we are. Goff has put up a couple of impressive weeks against Philadelphia and Washington so far and matches up against the Viking’s defense which got picked apart by the Eagles just one week ago. A very good value at QB at $7,100 could get you a top 10 performance this week.
