We may be on the verge of seeing another superstar from the Attitude Era make a return to WWE for the 900th episode of Smackdown and Survivor Series that is next weekend up in Toronto.

It was already confirmed that Edge and Undertaker will both be making returns to Smackdown next week as the blue brand will celebrating the 900th episode. It is also well-known by now that Goldberg will have a match at Survivor Series. It is expected that WWE will also try to pull out some surprises of returning stars. It would not be a shocker to some of the WWE fans if they were able to get the Rock to make a return to Smackdown. It should be noted that it was the Rock who coined the term Smackdown and helped launch the second weekly WWE show back in the late 1990’s.

The last time the Rock was seen on WWE programming was at Wrestlemania 32 when he had an in-ring promo with three out of four members of the Wyatt Family. The only one who was not present was Luke Harper who was dealing with an injury. Although the Rock appears on WWE programming from time to time, he is still incredibly over with the WWE universe. However, there are rumblings that he could make a possible appearance at Survivor Series the next weekend up in Toronto. Personally, I feel WWE is doing this to give Survivor Series some credibility that it lost over the last few years. I have heard some members of the WWE universe who don’t consider Survivor Series to be one of the Big Four pay-per-views anymore because it has not had a lot of juice in a few years.

It will be interesting to see if the Rock does appear on Smackdown Live next week as they celebrate the brand’s 900th episode.
