Michael Choice Has Solid Debut For The Oakland Athletics

Oakland Athletics prospect Michael Choice had a solid Major League Debut as the designated hitter. In his first at-bat leading off the third inning he took the first three pitches from Derek Holland all three were outside of the strike zone, the fourth did find the strike zone, he then fouled off pitch no.5 and walked on no.6. The A's weren't able to capitalize on the lead off walk as he got stranded at first.

A’s Robbed Of Walk-Off Home Run Even With Review, End up winning 10-8 in 19 Innings

Major League Baseball has done at least one thing right in regards to replay and that's instituting reviews of home run calls.  Tonight that system failed as Oakland Athletics outfielder Chris Young hit a walk-off home run against the Los Angeles Angels. The original call on the field a triple. A's manager Bob Melvin went out to ask for a replay and after a short discussion the umpiring crew obliged him. One thing that was clear the ball

Josh Donaldson Provides The Heroics As The A’s Beat The Tigers

It was a match-up between the two best offenses in the American League, the Oakland Athletics and the Detroit Tigers. Starting pitchers Max Scherzer and Bartolo Colon turned into a pitcher's duel. Colon made one mistake and that was in the third inning when he gave up a three-run home run to Prince Fielder. He ended up giving up eight hits, three runs all earned and struck out five while not giving up a walk. As for Scherzer he went six innings striking

It Wasn't Pretty, Yet The A's Win Their 6th Straight

Sometimes looks are deceiving and tonight was one of those times as the excellent pitching match-up between Jarrod Parker and C.J. Wilson. Yet, it never came to pass. Wilson retired the first two batters to open the game before running into trouble. He walked Jed Lowrie and Yoenis Cespedes and was visibly upset of what he thought were strikes got called balls. Derek Norris worked a 3-1 count and lined a single to plate the first run of the

A’s Win Third Straight Behind Straily’s Brilliance

The Oakland Athletics won their third straight game thanks to an outstanding start from Daniel Straily and a seven run outburst in the top of the fifth against the Houston Astros. Through three innings Straily struck out seven and wound up going 6.2 innings, striking out 11 and even more impressive did now allow a walk and his only blemishes were giving up a rbi single to Jose Altuve and a leadoff double to Jason Maxwell in the seventh.
