12. Wrestlemania 4- March 27, 1988: Trump Plaza, Atlantic City, NJ

This was the first of two straight Wrestlemania’s being hosted by Donald Trump and held at Trump Plaza in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Due to the storyline with Andre the Giant handing over the WWF Title to Ted DiBiase after defeating Hulk Hogan in a controversial match, the belt was held up in a 14-man tournament to decide the next champion. Most thought Hogan would re-capture it, but he and Andre were both disqualified in their second-round match and both were eliminated. The finals ended up being Randy Savage and DiBiase, as Savage fought in four separate matches and in the end, got some help from Hogan to win his very first WWF Championship. With Hogan set to film a movie, Savage would be the main event guy for the next year.

11. Wrestlemania 29- April 7, 2013: MetLife Stadium, East Rutherford, NJ

This was the first time a Wrestlemania took place in New Jersey since Wrestlemania 5 in 1989 and it was held just months after Hurricane Sandy had touched down on the area and caused havoc on the East coast. The re-match from a year earlier ended up not only becoming the main event, but became the WWE Championship Match between the Rock and John Cena. With the Rock set to return to Hollywood, Cena won the rematch at MetLife Stadium and re-claimed the belt back. In his first Wrestlemania match since leaving the company in 2004, Brock Lesnar faced off against and lost to Triple H, but only after he took the Pedigree off the steal stairs. The Undertaker’s streak continued for at least one more year as he defeated CM Punk in a solid match; this would be Punk’s last Wrestlemania match with the company.

10. Wrestlemania 14- March 29, 1998: Fleet Center, Boston, MA

This Wrestlemania was part of the time where the WWF was going into the Attitude Era and the main event was the beginning of it. Steve Austin was on the rise as the anti-face, but was the most popular wrestler in the company and had just won his second Royal Rumble, so he earned his chance to win the WWF Championship and did so by defeating Shawn Michaels, who was taking time off from the company due to a back injury. One of the highlights was after the match when Mike Tyson, who was the special enforcer in the match, knocked out HBK with one punch. Despite a back injury that forced him out for four years, Michaels put on a classic with Austin and helped elevate his career. The Rock retained his Intercontinental Title by disqualification over Ken Shamrock after the referee reversed the match due to Shamrock refusing to release the Anklelock and The Undertaker defeated Kane in the first of their many matches over the course of 20 years.

9. Wrestlemania 6- April 1, 1990: Sky Dome, Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Known as “The Ultimate Challenge,” this was the first time where the WWF Champion and Intercontinental Champion faced off in the main event. It was also the first time where two of the top faces, Hulk Hogan and the Ultimate Warrior, faced off in the main event. Both wrestlers put on an epic performance and saw the younger Warrior defeat Hogan and do so cleanly in the middle of the ring. The end of the night saw Hogan “pass the torch” to the Warrior as the next guy with him handing over the WWF Title. This was last Wrestlemania match for Andre the Giant, as his health worsened with his age. Because he could barely move, he didn’t appear in his tag team match that much and relied on his partner, Haku, to the brunt of the match in a losing effort to Demolition, who regained the Tag Team Titles.

8. Wrestlemania 20- March 14, 2004: Madison Square Garden, New York, NY

The 20th Anniversary of Wrestlemania was hosted at the same place that the very first and 10th event was held at; Madison Square Garden. Before they will square off for the WWE Universal Championship, Goldberg and Brock Lesnar faced off with both men set to leave the company, which had the New York crowd chanting “You sold out!” due to the fact that Lesnar was leaving the WWE to pursue a career in the NFL. Goldberg won the match, but everyone was happy to see Steve Austin, the referee for the match, gave stunners to both Lesnar and Goldberg. In the WWE Championship Match, Eddie Guerrero won in a classic over Kurt Angle. The main event match saw Chris Benoit win the World Heavyweight Championship in a triple threat match over Triple H and Shawn Michaels. In their second meeting at a Wrestlemania, the Undertaker, who reverted back to his dead man gimmick, defeated Kane.

7. Wrestlemania 10- March 20, 1994: Madison Square Garden, New York, NY

Just like the first and 20th versions, Wrestlemania 10 was hosted again by Madison Square Garden in New York City. This one will always be remembered by the epic Ladder Match for the Intercontinental Title between Shawn Michaels and Razor Ramon, a match won by Ramon. The event had two championship matches, as Lex Luger, who had co-won the Royal Rumble, lost by disqualification to the champion in Yokozuna with Mr. Perfect as the special guest referee. In the second title match, Bret Hart re-captured the WWF Title by defeating Yokozuna and avenging the loss from a year earlier; Roddy Piper was the referee for that match. Earlier in the night, Bret faced off against his brother, Owen Hart and lost to his younger brother in a wrestling classic and another match many consider as an all time great. In his final Wrestlemania appearance, Randy Savage defeated Crush in a Falls Count Anywhere Match.
